Clinical assessments and therapy services are provided by Kansas licensed mental health professionals with training in psychology, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy and professional counseling. Individual, family and group therapy options are available. Center clinicians provide treatment to persons with depression, anxiety, ADHD, behavioral problems, family challenges, emotion dysregulation problems, and eating disorders in addition to many other issues.
Emergency Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for clients requiring immediate attention. Off-site pre-hospitalization screening assessments, and after-hours coverage are available throughout the Center's coverage area of Atchison, Jefferson and Leavenworth counties in Kansas via the 24-Hour Emergency number. The Center's Emergency link will contact a clinician from the Center to assist you. Walk-in crisis services are available Monday through Friday from 9 am to 2 pm at the Leavenworth location, and as needed at the Atchison location and Oskaloosa location.

Community Support Services (CSS)
The Center's Community Support Services (CSS) program provides community-based service to adults with Serious and Persistant Mental Illness (SPMI). The primary goal of these services is to assist clients with maintaining community living. Services include case management, peer support, assistance through the PATH program for those adults who qualify, Adult Psychosocial treatment (individual or group), targeted services for those with Dual Diagnosis (mental illness and substance abuse), psychiatry service, and other mental health services as necessary.
Community Based Services (CBS)
The Center's Community Based Services (CBS) program provides intensive community-based services to youth suffering from Severe Emotional Disturbance (SED). Available services include case management, targeted case management, psychiatry service, attendant care, and youth psychosocial individual and group treatment. For youth on the HCBS SED waiver, additional services can include parent support and respite care, and for older youth, Independent Living Skills training.
The Guidance Center is licensed by the State of Kansas to provide outpatient treatment services, including alcohol and drug evaluation, treatment, education and relapse prevention for adults and adolescents. An initial assessment is administered to all individuals seeking treatment in order to determine the appropriate level of care. Individuals are admitted to Recovery Services or, if more intensive treatment is indicated, are referred to the appropriate treatment facility. Guidance Center treatment services could include individual or group treatment, or therapy with an appropriate clinician. In addition, participation in specialized groups may also be recommended.
The Center's Medical Director is Board certified in Child and Adult Psychiatry. He sees child and adolescent clients in all three counties. Our other medical providers are Advanced Practice Registered Nurses and Physician Assistants who specialize in treating adults or children/youth. Additional medical support team members include a Licensed Practical Nurse and a Certified Medical Assistant.
