Employment and Internship Opportunities

 

Thank you for your interest in employment opportunities at The Guidance Center. We are a non-profit Community Mental Health Center licensed by the State of Kansas to provide community based behavioral health and substance abuse treatment services.

Youth Psychosocial Program Group Leader Assistants to work part-time in Leavenworth and Oskaloosa.  The hours for these positions will be Monday through Thursday, 1:00 pm to 7:30 pm. These positions provide Attendant Care services to clients participating in the Center’s After-School Programs.  Primary duties include: promoting successful group interactions among consumers, encouraging and supporting clients’ engagement in activities, and assisting clients efforts to effectively problem–solve and interact with others. 

Minimum qualifications: One year of college course work in the field of human
services, or one year of experience in the field of human services and six months experience working with individuals in the community. 

Youth Community Support Worker to work in Atchison.  This position provides Community Psychiatric Support and Treatment (CPST) to SED children/youth, following the strengths model of case management.  CPST contacts must occur in community locations where the person lives, works, attends school, and/or socializes. 

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required or be equivalently qualified by work experience or a combination of education and work experience in the human services field with one year of experience substituting for one year of education.
